The Art Place - Mountain View

A Cobb County Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs Facility

The Art Place – Mountain View is a visual and performing arts center in East Cobb, offering flexible spaces and year-round programs in painting, drawing, pottery, dance, drama, and more. Our facility includes a Black Box Theater, gallery, pottery studio, conference room, and multipurpose classrooms, all designed to support arts education and community engagement.

We present gallery exhibitions, community events, theatre productions, and the free summer series Scene on the Green, featuring outdoor movies, concerts, and live theatre. The Black Box Theater, conference room, and classrooms are available to rent for arts-related organizations, rehearsals, meetings, and performances.

History

The Art Place began in 1986 when Cobb County leased and converted a former restaurant into the Steeple House Arts Center at Johnson Ferry and Paper Mill Roads. Rapid growth in community participation showed a strong need for a dedicated arts facility, guiding county officials to develop a permanent home for cultural programming.
The Art Place – Mountain View opened as a purpose-built arts center thanks to the support and enthusiasm of the East Cobb community.
